I've no doubt my day of accounting for taking on too many and varied things lately is fast approaching. I am not particularly looking forward to it. Still, the ride is fun for the moment. If only I could get things under control a bit more.
I am a 76 year old mother of three adult daughters. I am a product of Convent Schools (the Ursuline Nuns), the University of San Francisco, and UC Berkeley where, when they finished with me, I was a teacher! Educatiion has always been my first love since I was a little girl. I was blessed, however, to have two professions: Education and Nursing. I was a Registered Nurse first who spent eight years in the United States Navy Nurse Corps, followed by a tour of duty with the United States Public Health Service. Though I had a family, I always found time for volunteer work and missions.
I think one of my favorite missions was with a leprosy mission. After retirement (only because of my hearing loss) I enjoyed more time for collecting miniatures and building doll houses and decorating them. Knitting and various crafts are spotted around the rooms in my home, where I have always collected antiques. I have two home pages at Geocities--Genealogy Resources: Steps in Time and Dubh Sidhe's Fairy Garden. My favorite companion is my 6 year old Bichon doggie, named Sammy after my dad whose name was Samuel. I don't think dad would object.
